Confession: We have always loved SweeTARTS. So much so that we would trade our sisters a piece or two of chocolate (yes, CHOCOLATE) Halloween candy in return for all their SweeTARTS. They thought they got the better deal, but when their plastic pumpkins were all empty, we were still untwisting the ends of cellophane tubes of sour, crunchy SweeTART disks. You may not know that Sweetarts are made of Pixy Stix powder. It's true. They were introduced in 1963 in response to parents who complained that their kids spilled Pixy Stix powder (and its even more precariously packaged cousin, the candy formerly known as Lik-M-Aid, and now called Fun Dip) all over the upholstery in their brand new Chevy Impalas and Ford Fairlanes.
